My effort at going “green” By Casey P. Using the clothes line is my effort at going green. I save a lot of money not using the gas dryer… only use it to fluff the clothes for 10 minutes for each load because drying on the line doesn’t always leave things soft and wrinkle free.
These are like the pins my mom used to use. Sturdy and well made.

Yep, These Are the Ones By angelfood The ones like your grandma used. Strong enough to hold the clothes on the line. After buying some that look like these but are flimsy and broke after one use, I went on a clothespin hunt.
The same folks make a nice little clothespin bag in unbleached cotton which I am in the process of embroidering with a 30′s redwork design. Grandma would be proud.
Save money! Hang your clothes on the line. Save more money! Make your own laundry soap.

Vintage clothespins are better By Anne I have been line drying since this past spring. I wanted wood clothespins as I’m trying to avoid plastic whenever I can. I started with cheap ones from a big box store. They were small and weak, so I looked around for something better and found these. Based on the reviews, I ordered them. They were a bit bigger and stronger than what I had, but they fell apart so easily, I was losing a couple a week. Sure, I could put them back together, but they were even less likely to stay together after that. Finally, I found some vintage clothespins and ordered those. The old clothespins are made of hard wood and have strong springs. If you can find them, that’s what I recommend.
