Handy, and a welcome addition

Although I have all the basic kitchen tools and then some, I’m always looking to add a useful new tool to my kitchen arsenal, and since I bought this stainless steel turner by MIU, it’s turned out to be just that–useful. I obviously wouldn’t use it on the 3-4 nonstick pans I have. My main pans are stainless steel, and although it would probably be fine for those, I’d be worried about scratching them, too, so for now, I find it’s a perfect fit for working with my cast iron pans. I highly recommend it. And for $7, how can you go wrong? Definitely get it.

UPDATE, Sept. 26, 2010: Just going through some of my old reviews and disappointed to see this item has skyrocketed in price to $14.95 as of today. And since it is no longer sold and fulfilled by Amazon (free shipping eligible), there will also be a shipping charge, making this item about 250% more than it was when I bought it for $7 with free shipping. However, other MIU brand turners, such as the slotted flexible model, is selling for $9.99 and is sold by Amazon, so free shipping eligible. That might be a better bet for the money.

UPDATE, Dec 20, 2010: I note this is now back at $6.99. To me, this is worth as much as $10 if it can be bundled with other items eligible for free shipping. If, when you read this, the price is over $10, check back often because the prices of items in your cart can fluctuate significantly.

Just buy it

This a flexible product that is very useful in the skillet. The only knock I have against it is it takes some getting use to when flipping eggs. The width is narrow.

Very nice

I really love this, it works so much better then the plastic ones I had been using, it makes a difference in picking up food and food sticking to the pan has been reduced. Not sure if its the stainless steel against the stainless steel of the pan helping, even the eggs lift easy. Handle is shorter then I am use to but gives me more control, cleans in a breeze, beautiful piece that hangs on the wall with a magnetic strip I also bought here at Amazon, no need to hide it in a drawer.
