please correct me if i am wrong…

  • Christianity can be best summed up in the phrase “seek and save the lost”.
  • Saving the lost means people are becoming Christians.

does that seem weird to anyone else? to me it sounds like we are saving people to the idea of saving people.

Super Bowl Commercials

I like to watch the Superbowl, actually I love football. I used to look forward to the new commercials that would come out, this year that didn’t really excite instead it was agitating. The fact that a company could spend 3 million ( i think that was the rumor) for a 30 second commercial when people in the US are having a hard time being able to buy groceries and pay medical expenses. Hmmm i am starting to realize that I think something is wrong with that picture. To me that didn’t even make the superbowl any better, I can’t remember half the commercials or what they were advertising for probably beer which i don’t drink. I love to watch the superbowl no doubt, but I can’t believe that we would almost make it out to be a national holiday. Even churches make it out to be a big deal.. i guess it’s a good fellowship thing not really seeing the whole spiritual aspect, but it seems like the encouragement for your own personal spirituality is dead. Some would beg to differ and they would say they have a good spiritual life, i used to think that, but after learning what more I could be doing made me grow more, now maybe i feel stuck and need the urge to grow more. Since our move to Tucson it seems like God teaches me something different each year. I think this year he is teaching me about materialism and not wanting more… which for me is very hard. Not necessarily wanting more, but wanting to be like joe shomo. who seems to have it all… (mostly because they are racking up credit card bills) being able to go out and buy clothes whenever i want, being able to fix up our house, go out to eat for every meal, get pictures of the kids on a more regular basis. Celebrate birthdays with a big bang! I am also trying to learn the importance of not having too many extras not needed items in my life. I think that spending 3 million dollars or even half that on a superbowl commercial is an un needed thing and the money could be much better spent somewhere else.
