Hello All to read this…. I am having a pampered Chef party on Friday March 30 7:00pm if you want to come sorry if you did not get a more personal invite.

Not much going on in the colburn household or too much, we are only steps away from finishing our bathroom. It’s only been down for 6 months but it seems as though we go to the next step something goes wrong even the smallest thing fails causing much frusteration, but the toliet is up and running the sink works water for the tub does come out of the pipe (not saying it’s stopped leaking yet) and we have some light in there.

David has a cold ran a fever Monday night but he’s happy as ever not comlpaining much. They swabed his thoart for strep but does not have that (his throat is a little red) and did a cather on the poor kid to make sure it’s not a UTI (unirary track infection) I’ll find out the results from that by friday but it’s probably not since he’s had no fever since Tuesday morning.
Well just a little post with tons of mis-spellings but i am too lazy to fix them all but figured we needed to write something.

Please Pray

A friend of ours Casey Bell who is a missionary in Taiwan just received news that his father passed away this afternoon, not sure of the details but this was unexpected.. Casey and his family (family of 4) will need to fly back to the states and need your prayers for safety, comfort, and the funds to be available.

If you would like to give to Casey and Molly you can make checks out to Team Expansion and send them to me since I am their forwarding agent.

I am back now…

It was an amazing, eye-opening experience, and i will be going back i know. I wrote journals everyday and tracked all my experiences, and i thought about posting them all, but i figured just one wrap-up post might be much better.

It feels like i have been gone a year, and i have so much to catch up on and re-learn. The main thing that has changed about me is that i left my guitar in Africa - with the church there. I really felt God leading me to give it to them, and i really couldn’t think of a reason to keep it. It was so awesome to see their thankfulness, and give something from my heart.

Halfway through the trip i was depressed… i didn’t want to have to come back and face reality, but closer to the end God encouraged me to come back a changed man, and take that excitement with me instead of checking it with my baggage in Africa.

I made some new friends, i wish i had pictures to post, but i will soon.

today i caught up on my personal email, and my Google feed reader (some i just had to check “mark all as read” ) but i did read and listen to all of my “friends” label.

Carl Cherry had a post and linked to this youtube video of Bono’s acceptance speech… seriously cool stuff, and it is connected with Africa - and i really understand what he is talking about now. I read an article by him in rolling stones mag on the way to Africa that was really eye opening too.

it’s good to be back, but i do look forward to my next visit…
